Versus is an editorial design project exploring opposition through form and narrative. Through two antagonistic characters, Irma Boom vs Paula Scher, the project translates typographic rules, layout systems, and material form into a reflection on the boundaries between convention and experimentation in book design.
The subject of this project is Irma Boom.
This volume explores editorial design through structure, hierarchy, and restraint. Inspired by Irma Boom’s practice, it follows classical book design principles, using typographic discipline and material precision to construct a controlled and coherent narrative system.
Versus is a project that was developed within the course Advanced Studies in Editorial Design and Typography,
